To suppress occurrence of intake air from an intake passage to a combustion chamber after ignition of an air-fuel mixture is stopped.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 includes an internal combustion engine body 3 having a combustion chamber, an ignition device for igniting an air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber, an operation device 11 for accepting stop operation of the internal combustion engine 1, a control device 5 for stopping ignition of the air-fuel mixture by the ignition device in accordance with the acceptance of the stop operation at the operation device 11, a carburetor 35 for supplying fuel to an intake passage communicated with the combustion chamber, an on-off valve provided in the intake passage, and an adjustment device 12 for adjusting an opening of the on-off valve.
