Zusammenfassung:To provide a vehicle control device which enables improvement of traveling performance of a vehicle while avoiding a collision with an obstacle, and to provide a vehicle control method.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device according to an embodiment includes an acquisition unit and an instruction unit. The acquisition unit acquires distance information from a distance detection unit which detects a distance from an obstacle in a travel direction of a vehicle. The instruction unit executes collision avoidance control when the distance detected by the distance detection unit is less than a first predetermined distance. The instruction unit maintains the state of the collision avoidance control when the distance is less than the first predetermined distance and the distance is detected in a non-continuous manner.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1B 【課題】障害物との衝突を回避しつつ、車両の走行性を向上させる車両制御装置、および車両制御方法を提供すること。【解決手段】実施形態に係る車両制御装置は、取得部と、指示部とを備える。取得部は、車両の進行方向における障害物の距離を検出する距離検出部から距離情報を取得する。指示部は、距離検出部によって検出された距離が第1所定距離未満である場合に、衝突回避制御を実行させる。指示部は、距離が第1所定距離未満であり、かつ距離が連続性なく検出された場合には、衝突回避制御をマスクする。【選択図】図1B
