Zusammenfassung:To provide a power conversion device which can suppress an unstable short circuit state of a switching element having a short circuit failure, on the occurrence of the short circuit failure of the switching element in a plurality of converters connected in series.SOLUTION: The power conversion device includes: a main circuit unit which converts power by the operation of a plurality of converters connected in series; and a control device which controls the operation of the main circuit unit. Each of the plurality of converters includes: a pair of connection terminals; a plurality of switching elements; and a charge storage element connected in parallel to the plurality of switching elements. The control device detects a short circuit failure of the plurality of switching elements of the plurality of converters. On detecting a short circuit failure in either of the plurality of switching elements in either of the plurality of converters, the control device controls the operation of the plurality of converters in a manner to supply a circulating current which circulates in the main circuit to the converter having the short circuit failure in either of the plurality of switching elements.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】直列に接続された複数の変換器において、スイッチング素子の短絡故障が発生した際に、短絡故障したスイッチング素子の不安定な短絡状態を抑制できる電力変換装置を提供する。【解決手段】直列に接続された複数の変換器の動作により、電力の変換を行う主回路部と、主回路部の動作を制御する制御装置と、を備え、複数の変換器のそれぞれは、一対の接続端子と、複数のスイッチング素子と、複数のスイッチング素子に対して並列に接続された電荷蓄積素子と、を有し、制御装置は、複数の変換器の複数のスイッチング素子の短絡故障の検出を行い、複数の変換器のいずれかで複数のスイッチング素子のいずれかの短絡故障を検出した場合に、複数のスイッチング素子のいずれかの短絡故障が発生した変換器に対して主回路部内を循環する循環電流を供給するように、複数の変換器の動作を制御する電力変換装置が提供される。【選択図】図3
