Zusammenfassung:To provide a detector that can adequately determine whether a detection operation of detecting a distance to a detection target is properly done.SOLUTION: The detector includes a transmission unit, a reception unit, and a determination unit. The transmission unit transmits an ultrasonic wave, and the reception unit receives a direct delivery wave transmitted from the transmission unit and a reflection wave from a detection target of the ultrasonic wave transmitted from the transmission unit. The determination unit determines whether a detection operation is properly done on the basis of the fact that the signal level of a reception signal in the reception unit has become at least a threshold value in a period of time from when the transmission unit started transmitting the ultrasonic wave to a predetermined time has passed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】検知対象までの距離を検知する検知動作が適切に行われているか否かを適切に判定可能な検知装置を提供すること。【解決手段】実施形態の検知装置は、送信部、受信部及び判定部を備える。送信部は、超音波を送信し、受信部は、送信部から送信された超音波の直達波、及び、送信部から送信された超音波の検知対象による反射波を受信する。判定部は、送信部での超音波の送信開始時から所定の期間を経過するまでの間において受信部での受信信号の信号レベルが閾値以上になったことに基づいて、検知動作が適切であると判定する。【選択図】図3
