To efficiently alleviate sheet one side bending in which one side part in a width direction of a sheet is bent compared with the other side part.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a fixing unit 3 that has a pair of rotating bodies at least one of which is heated by a heat source, the rotating bodies sandwiching and conveying a sheet while rotating with each other; and a control unit that controls the fixing unit 3, and further comprises a one side bending detection unit 7 that can detect sheet one side bending in which one side part in a width direction of a sheet is bent compared with the other side part on the upstream side of the fixing unit 3 in a conveyance direction of the sheet. The fixing unit 3 has a rotation shaft inclination mechanism that inclines a rotation shaft of one rotating body 5 of the pair of rotating bodies with respect to a rotation shaft of the other rotating body 4.
