To solve the problem in which: in an image forming apparatus provided with two acquisition units acquiring the amount of toner remaining in a developer container provided in the image forming apparatus and displaying the remaining amount of toner acquired by the acquisition units on a display unit, when switching display of acquisition values of the two acquisition units on the display unit, a sudden change in the remaining amount of toner should be prevented.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus, a control unit controls a display unit to create a first period in which the amount of toner remaining in a toner storage unit acquired by a first acquisition unit is displayed on the display unit and a second period in which the amount of toner remaining in the toner storage unit acquired by a second acquisition unit is displayed on the display unit. The control unit further controls to create, between the first period and the second period, a third period in which a transition in the remaining amount of toner is made so that the remaining amount of toner is reduced with a first gradient, and a fourth period in which a transition in the remaining amount of toner is made so that the remaining amount of toner is reduced with a second gradient.
