Zusammenfassung:	To provide a magnetic tape that hardly lowers electromagnetic conversion characteristics even if it repeatedly runs.SOLUTION: A magnetic tape has a non-magnetic support body and a magnetic layer containing ferromagnetic powder. The magnetic tape contains a fluorine-containing compound in a portion on the magnetic layer side of the non-magnetic support body, and a ratio θr of a water contact angle measured on a surface of the magnetic layer after sliding with a magnetic head with respect to the water contact angle estimated on the surface of the magnetic layer before sliding with the magnetic head is 0.70 or more.
