To surely protect a body from rainwater by evenly and largely securing a distance from a user to the four quarters of outer edges of an umbrella cloth and thereby using more areas for covering against rain.SOLUTION: A folding umbrella 1 includes: a tube 2, ferrule 3, grip part 4, slider 5, a plurality of ribs 6 which are arranged radially extendedly with the ferrule 3 as the center, a plurality of stretchers 7, and an umbrella cloth 8. The plurality of ribs 6 contain a plurality of types of ribs 6 that are different from each other in the sum total of extended lengths along the elongation direction of the ribs. In a state of opened umbrella, a first center location X connecting the other end of each rib 6 is arranged in a manner offsetting to the front side from the ferrule in view from a user.
