FOLDING DEVICE

To provide a folding device capable of appropriately performing folding processing without interfering with a folding operation by a roller conveying a sheet when the sheet is folded while being held on a conveyance path.SOLUTION: A folding device 1 comprises: a conveyance unit 2 provided with a roller 19 for sandwiching and conveying a sheet S; and a folding unit 7 for folding the sheet S conveyed by the conveyance unit 2. The folding unit 7 is provided with a holding part 71 for holding the sheet S on a conveyance path, and a proximity part 72 for bringing a folded piece of the sheet S close to an opposite position of a holding piece of the sheet S held by the holding part 71.
