STEREOSCOPIC DISPLAY DEVICE

To provide a stereoscopic display device which has the wider vision angle than that of a conventional lens array method and the higher utilization efficiency of light than that of a conventional aperture array method.SOLUTION: In a stereoscopic display device in which a lens array 2 and an aperture array 3 are used in combination in a flat panel display 1, the flat panel display 1 is arranged so as to be closer to the lens array 2 side with respect to a focal surface of the lens array 2; an element image of the flat panel display 1 may be stereoscopic-displayed by expanding it with virtual image formation; the aperture array 3 is arranged so as to have such a state that it is apart from the lens array 2 on the side confronting the flat panel display 1 with respect to the lens array 2 and such a state that an aperture 3a thereof corresponds to a lens 2a of the lens array 2; and setting is performed such that virtual images 1a' of pixels 1a in the flat panel display 1 are seen in an evenly arranged manner through a virtual image 3a' of the aperture 3a of the aperture array 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】従来のレンズアレイ方式よりも視域角が広く、従来の開口アレイ方式よりも光の利用効率が高い立体表示装置を提供する。【解決手段】フラットパネルディスプレイ１にレンズアレイ２と開口アレイ３とを併用した立体表示装置に関し、レンズアレイ２の焦点面よりもフラットパネルディスプレイ１をレンズアレイ２側に寄せて配置し、フラットパネルディスプレイ１の要素画像を虚像結像により拡大して立体表示し得るように構成すると共に、開口アレイ３をレンズアレイ２に対しフラットパネルディスプレイ１と対峙する側でレンズアレイ２から離間した状態を成し且つその開口３ａがレンズアレイ２のレンズ２ａと対応した状態を成すように配置し、開口アレイ３の開口３ａの虚像３ａ'を通してフラットパネルディスプレイ１における画素１ａの虚像１ａ'が均等に並んで見えるように設定する。【選択図】図１
