Zusammenfassung:To provide a fault detection apparatus and a fault detection method for providing stable operation of a network.SOLUTION: A fault detection apparatus configured to detect a fault of a device to be monitored and comprising a processor and a memory, includes a histogram generation unit and a fault detection unit. The histogram generation unit generates a first histogram by aggregating frequencies of a first performance value for a predetermined period by predetermined category, from first performance data formed by recording first performance values representing operation state of the device to be monitored in time series.
