To prevent a failure in cutting a recording medium with a cutter member, in a structure in which the cutter member can be stored.SOLUTION: A recording medium cutting device 30 has a plate-like cutter member 311 held to be movable to a protection position and an exposure position. If a cutter holder unit 321 is not attached to a cutter slider 312, the interval between a cutter holder 320 and a cutter regulation member 325 is wider than the thickness of the cutter member 311, while if the cutter holder unit 321 is attached to the cutter slider 312, the interval between the cutter holder 320 and the cutter regulation member 325 is the same as the thickness of the cutter member 311.
