Zusammenfassung:To set an appropriate transfer voltage even in an environment in which prevention of patch void and prevention of strong void are difficult, such as a high temperature and high humidity environment.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 has an image carrier 10, a transfer member 20, an application unit 21, and a control unit 210. In performing constant voltage control on a transfer voltage so that a voltage that the application unit 21 applies to the transfer member 20 becomes substantially constant, the control unit 210 perform control to define the transfer voltage as a first voltage when the amount of toner used for a toner image is a first amount of toner, and defines the transfer voltage as a second voltage that has an absolute value smaller than the absolute value of the first voltage when the amount of toner is a second amount of toner larger than the first amount of toner.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】高温高湿環境などのパッチボソの抑制と強抜けの抑制との両立が難しい環境においても、適切な転写電圧を設定する。【解決手段】画像形成装置100は、像担持体10と、転写部材20と、印加部21と、制御部210と、を有し、制御部210が、印加部21により転写部材20に印加する電圧が略一定となるように転写電圧を定電圧制御する際に、トナー像に使用されるトナー量が第1のトナー量の場合に転写電圧を第1の電圧とし、上記トナー量が第1のトナー量より大きい第2のトナー量の場合に転写電圧を第1の電圧の絶対値よりも絶対値が小さい第2の電圧とするように制御を行う構成とする。【選択図】図1
