Zusammenfassung:To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine capable of suppressing degradation of combustion characteristics of the internal combustion engine in starting a catalyst warming-up process under a situation that the internal combustion engine is operated in an Atkinson cycle.SOLUTION: A control device 100 includes a CPU 101 executing a catalyst warming-up process for warming up a catalyst 30 disposed on an exhaust passage 27 by retarding ignition timing while performing stratified combustion in an internal combustion engine 20. The CPU 101 changes air intake VT to intake target timing in the catalyst warming-up process in a case when the intake VT exists at a retarded side with respect to a reference timing, and then changes exhaust VT to exhaust target timing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】アトキンソンサイクルで内燃機関が運転している状況下で触媒暖機処理が開始された際に、内燃機関の燃焼特性が悪化することを抑制できる内燃機関の制御装置を提供すること。【解決手段】制御装置100は、内燃機関20で成層燃焼を行わせつつ点火時期を遅角することにより、排気通路27に設けられている触媒30を暖機させる触媒暖機処理を実行するCPU101を備えている。CPU101は、基準時期よりも吸気VTが遅角側である場合、触媒暖機処理において、吸気VTを吸気目標時期に変更し、その後、排気VTを排気目標時期に変更する。【選択図】図1
