To provide a printing method and a printing device capable of suppressing occurrence of a difference in a degree of wet spreading of a coating material depending on a type of a printing body.SOLUTION: A printing method includes: a buffer layer forming step of, when there is a difference between a surface free energy of a printing body that is a printing object and a surface free energy of a coating material to be coated on a surface of the printing body, forming a buffer layer in the surface of the printing body by using a buffer material having a surface free energy that is different from that of the printing body or the coating material; and a printing step of printing by coating the buffer layer with the coating material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】被印刷体の種類によって塗布材料の濡れ広がりの程度に差がつくことを抑制可能な印刷方法及び印刷装置を提供する。【解決手段】印刷方法は、印刷対象である被印刷体の表面自由エネルギーと前記被印刷体の表面に塗布する塗布材料の表面自由エネルギーとの間に差がある場合において、前記被印刷体の表面に、前記被印刷体又は前記塗布材料とは異なる表面自由エネルギーを有する緩衝材料を用いて緩衝層を形成する緩衝層形成工程と、前記緩衝層の上に前記塗布材料を塗布することで印刷を行う印刷工程とを含む。【選択図】図５
