Zusammenfassung:To provide a method of evaluating a butt-welded part of a steel pipe, which offers improved measurement accuracy.SOLUTION: A butt-welded part evaluation method for a steel pipe having a butt-welded part formed in a pipe axis direction, comprises: a pressing step of compressing a steel pipe 4 in a direction inclined in a pipe circumferential direction relative to a plane including the pipe axis and the butt-welded part; a detection step of detecting an acoustic emission wave generated by the compression; and a determination step of determining presence or absence of defective butt-welding on the basis of the detected acoustic emission wave. In the determination step, the presence or absence of defective butt-welding may be determined on the basis of an amount of change in the detected acoustic emission wave signal per unit time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】測定精度を向上させた鋼管の衝合部評価方法を提供すること。【解決手段】管軸方向に形成された衝合部を有する鋼管の衝合部評価方法であって、管軸および衝合部を含む平面に対して管周方向に傾斜した方向に鋼管4を挟圧する挟圧工程と、挟圧により発生するアコースティックエミッション波を検出する検出工程と、検出されたアコースティックエミッション波に基づいて、衝合部不良の有無を判定する判定工程と、を含む、鋼管の衝合部評価方法。判定工程では、検出されたアコースティックエミッション波の信号において、単位時間当たりの前記信号の変化量に基づいて、衝合部不良の有無を判定してもよい。【選択図】図2
