To provide a handrail in which a lighting device is incorporated in a coping, and which is suppressed in cost by making members common in use in any irradiation direction while coping with the plurality of irradiation directions.SOLUTION: A handrail comprises a cylindrical coping and a lighting device. The coping is formed by making a cover material composed of a shape material and a panel strip material composed of a shape material engaged with each other, and fixing them with fixing screws. The panel strip material has a panel strip fixing face part penetrated with the fixing screws, the panel strip fixing face part is located while being shifted to one side in a depth direction, the cover material has a cover outer shell part constituting a contour of the coping, and a support part arranged inside the cover outer shell part, the support part has a cover fixing face part to which the fixing screws are screwed, and an attachment face part to which the lighting device is attached, the cover fixing face part is parallel with the panel strip fixing face part, and located while being shifted to one side in the depth direction, and the attachment face part is located at the other side in the depth direction with respect to the cover fixing face part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】笠木に照明を内蔵したものであって、複数の照射方向に対応しつつ、各照射方向の場合において部材を共通化してコストを抑えた手すりを提供する。【解決手段】筒状の笠木と、照明具を備え、前記笠木は、形材からなるカバー材と形材からなる目板材が係合して固定ネジで固定されたものであり、前記目板材は、前記固定ネジが貫通する目板固定面部を有しており、該目板固定面部は、見込方向の一方側寄りに位置しており、前記カバー材は、前記笠木の外形を構成するカバー外殻部と、該カバー外殻部の内側に設けられた支持部を有しており、該支持部は、前記固定ネジが螺合するカバー固定面部と、前記照明具が取り付けられる取付面部を有しており、前記カバー固定面部は、前記目板固定面部と平行であって見込方向の一方側寄りに位置しており、前記取付面部は、前記カバー固定面部に対して見込方向の他方側に位置している。【選択図】図１
