Zusammenfassung: | To provide a coil component capable of enhancing a dielectric voltage between a coil conductor and external electrodes.SOLUTION: A coil component comprises: a coil conductor 25 that has a circulation part extending around a coil axis Ax; a base substance 10 that covers at least the circulation part of the coil conductor; an external electrode 21 provided on the base substance so as to be connected with the coil conductor; and an external electrode 22. The base substance has an outer surface (principal surfaces 10a and 10b and lateral faces 10c to 10f) that includes a first surface crossing the coil axis and including a long side and a short side, a second surface opposed to the first surface and separated from the first surface by a distance shorter than the long side, and a connection surface for connecting between the first surface and the second surface. The outer surface of the base substance has: a main body part 11 that includes a plurality of metal magnetic particles, occupying a part of the connection surface; and at least one high-resistance part 12 that occupies a region not occupied by the main body part between the two external electrodes of the connection surface over the whole length in a circumferential direction around the coil axis, having a volume resistivity higher than that of the main body part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
