Zusammenfassung:To suppress the deterioration of a detection electrode and improve the responsiveness to second particular gas.SOLUTION: A gas sensor includes a sensor element 110, an inner protection cover 130, and an outer protection cover 140. The sensor element 110 includes an element main body 20 where a measurement gas flowing part is provided internally, a detection unit that detects the concentration of first particular gas among measurement gas flowing from a gas inlet 21a that is an entrance of the measurement gas flowing part, and a mixed potential cell that generates electromotive force according to the concentration of second particular gas in the measurement gas. The mixed potential cell includes a detection electrode 56 disposed in the element main body 20. The inner protection cover 130 has a sensor element chamber 124 on the inside and has an element chamber entrance 127, which is an entrance into the sensor element chamber 124, disposed therein. The detection electrode 56 is disposed inside the sensor element chamber 124. A shortest path length M1 from the element chamber entrance 127 to the detection electrode 56 is 1.5 mm or more and 19.9 mm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】検知電極の劣化を抑制し且つ第2特定ガスに対する応答性を良好にする。【解決手段】ガスセンサは、センサ素子110と、内側保護カバー130と、外側保護カバー140と、を備える。センサ素子110は、被測定ガス流通部が内部に設けられた素子本体20と、被測定ガス流通部の入口であるガス導入口21aから流入した被測定ガス中の第1特定ガスの濃度を検出するための検出部と、被測定ガス中の第2特定ガスの濃度に応じた起電力を生じる混成電位セルと、を備える。混成電位セルは、素子本体20に配設された検知電極56を備える。内側保護カバー130は、センサ素子室124を内側に有し、センサ素子室124への入口である素子室入口127が配設されている。検知電極56はセンサ素子室124の内部に配置されている。素子室入口127から検知電極56までの最短経路長M1が1.5mm以上19.9mm以下である。【選択図】図4
