To provide a protection structure of an underground continuous wall and a construction method of an underground continuous wall in which a joint member can be inserted without being separated from a protection member when inserting a joint member, and a protection member can be easily removed when removing a protection member.SOLUTION: A first protrusion 45 is provided at a lower end part 411 of a joint member 4. A front groove portion 666 (a first groove portion) is formed in a protection member 6. The first protrusion 45 is inserted into the front groove portion 666 from the above, can vertically move along the front groove portion 666, and can be discharged downward from a lower end of the front groove portion 666. In a state of inserted into the front groove portion 666, the first protrusion 45 is restrained from moving in a direction from a following element 3 side toward a preceding element side to the front groove portion 666.
