Zusammenfassung:To provide an electrode chip that can have a part other than its tip from coming into contact with a body to be welded during welding, and also maintain mechanical strength of a part on a side to be mounted on a shank of the electrode chip substantially at that of iron and stainless steel.SOLUTION: An electrode chip has a tip part 2051 to be brought into contact with a weld zone of a body to be welded, and a trunk part 2052 in a cylindrical shape which extending in one direction of the tip part 2051, and the trunk part 2052 gradually decreases in thickness from the tip part 2051 toward an opening 2053. The trunk part 205 is provided with a metallic annular body 2054 which has a thickness protruding radially outward from an outer surface of the trunk part 205, and also has insulation properties on a surface. Special stainless steel which has insulation properties through surface coating processing called KCF is suitable to the annular body 2054.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】溶接時に電極チップの先端部分以外の部分が被溶接物に接触するのを防止できるとともに、電極チップのシャンクに装着する側の部分の機械的強度を鉄やステンレス程度に保つことができる電極チップを提供する。【解決手段】被溶接物の溶接箇所に接触させる先端部2051と、先端部2051から一方向に延びる円筒形状を成す胴部2052と、を有し、胴部2052の肉厚が、先端部2051から開口端2053に向かうに従って徐々に薄くなる電極チップであって、胴部205に、胴部205の外面から径方向外向きに突出する肉厚を有するとともに、表面が絶縁性を有する金属製の環状体2054を設けた。環状体2054には、KCFと呼ばれる表面皮膜処理によって絶縁性を有する特殊ステンレスが好適である。【選択図】 図2
