Zusammenfassung:To provide a cable connection structure and a cable connection method in which watertightness and airtightness are ensured without involving an increase in the length of a cable connection portion or a complicated configuration, and sufficiently high strength and resistance against an outside pressure are offered.SOLUTION: In a connection structure and a connection method for armored cables each formed by inserting a coating wire or optical fiber into an exterior tube formed of a metal tube, in a state in which a connection portion where ends of the coating wires or optical fibers exposed from ends of the exterior tubes of the armored cables are electrically or optically connected is located in a high-voltage tube joint, ends of the outer tubes of the respective armored cables are connected with the high-voltage tube joint in a metal-sealed state, or both ends of a coupling metal sleeve disposed so as to surround the connection portion and ends of the outer tubes of the respective armored cables are connected with the high-voltage tube joint in a metal-sealed state. A space where the connection portion is located is filled with an insulating filling material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】ケーブル接続部の長大化および構造の複雑化を招くことなく、水密性および気密性が確保され、十分に高い強度および外圧に対する耐用性を有するケーブル接続構造およびケーブル接続方法を提供すること。【解決手段】被覆電線または光ファイバーが金属管よりなる外装管内に挿入されてなる外装ケーブル同士の接続構造および接続方法において、外装ケーブルの外装管の端部から露出された被覆電線または光ファイバーの端部同士が電気的にあるいは光学的に接続された接続部が高圧管継手内に位置された状態で、各々の外装ケーブルにおける外装管の端部が高圧管継手によってメタルシールされた状態に接続され、あるいは、前記接続部の周囲を覆うよう設けられた連結用金属スリーブの両端部と各々の外装ケーブルの外装管の端部とが高圧管継手によってメタルシールされた状態に接続され、前記接続部が位置された空間に絶縁性充填材が充填される。【選択図】図1
