Zusammenfassung: | To suppress a damage to an electrolyte layer owing to a stress caused in the electrolyte layer by the difference in thermal expansion between a particular electrode and an electrolyte layer and the like.SOLUTION: An electrochemical reaction single cell comprises: a solid oxide-containing electrolyte layer; and an air electrode and a fuel electrode which are opposed to each other in a first direction over the electrolyte layer. In the electrochemical reaction single cell, a plurality of bottomed recessed portions are formed in a particular surface of the electrolyte layer on the side of a particular electrode which is at least one of the air and fuel electrodes.
