The conveyance mechanism 10 conveys a long belt-like base material in a longer direction along a predetermined conveyance path. The heads 21 to 24 discharge ink onto a surface of the base material conveyed by the conveyance mechanism 10 on the basis of submitted data D1. The estimation part 44 outputs an estimation result D5 showing an expansion/contraction state of the base material by the ink on the basis of the submitted data D1 before printing of the submitted data D1. Thereby, the estimation result D5 of the expansion/contraction state according to the submitted data D1 can be obtained. 【課題】入稿データに応じた基材の伸縮状態を、印刷前に推定できる技術を提供する。【解決手段】この印刷装置は、搬送機構10、ヘッド21~24、および推定部44を備える。搬送機構10は、長尺帯状の基材を所定の搬送経路に沿って長手方向に搬送する。ヘッド21~24は、入稿データD1に基づいて、搬送機構10により搬送される基材の表面にインクを吐出する。推定部44は、入稿データD1の印刷よりも前に、入稿データD1に基づいて、インクによる基材の伸縮状態を示す推定結果D5を出力する。これにより、入稿データD1に応じた伸縮状態の推定結果D5を得ることができる。したがって、推定結果D5を考慮して、入稿データD1を印刷できる。【選択図】図4 |
