To provide an electric power system management device and an electric power system management method that can appropriately monitor and operate an electric power system.SOLUTION: An electric power system management device has: acquisition means 12 that acquires output values from components connected to an electric power system; stability calculation means 12 that, based on the output values from the components acquired by the acquisition means 12, calculates a static stability index indicating the static stability of the electric power system; and display means 12 that displays the static stability index calculated by the stability calculation means 12. The stability calculation means 12 calculates a static stability index in the present configuration of the electric power system and a static stability index when the configuration of the electric power system is changed.
