REFINING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING LOW-NITROGEN STEEL

To provide a refining apparatus capable of suppressing nitrogen absorption without significantly changing operation conditions that affects desulfurization performance or the like in LF refining.SOLUTION: A refining apparatus 1 for LF refining for heating molten steel 21 and slag 22 by electrodes 13 includes: a ladle 11 for holding the molten steel 21 and the slag 22; a lid 12 placed so as to cover the opening of the ladle 11; and a bottom blowing gas introduction member 14 provided at the bottom of the ladle 11 for bottom-blowing gas to the molten steel 21. The lid 12 has a purge gas inlet 12a for blowing gas to the slag 22.
