Zusammenfassung:	To provide a root-proof member that allows roots themselves to avoid contact with the root-proof member to inhibit the progress of the roots.SOLUTION: A root-proof member comprises a thermoplastic resin having a moisture permeance of less than 0.2 g mm/m2 d measured in accordance with ASTM F1249 under measurement conditions of temperature 40°C and relative humidity 90%, the thermoplastic resin comprising a cyclic olefinic copolymer having an α-olefin-derived constitutional unit and a cyclic olefin-derived constitutional unit.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】根自身に防根部材との接触を回避させて、根の進行を抑制することができる防根部材を提供する。【解決手段】温度４０℃、相対湿度９０％の測定条件下で、ＡＳＴＭＦ１２４９に準拠して測定した透湿係数が、０．２ｇ・ｍｍ／ｍ２・ｄ未満である熱可塑性樹脂であり、熱可塑性樹脂が、α－オレフィン由来の構成単位と環状オレフィン由来の構成単位とを含む環状オレフィン系共重合体を含む防根部材。【選択図】なし
