To provide a device for vehicle which can detect an error in a video output by itself.SOLUTION: A device 1 for vehicle according to an embodiment comprises: a control unit 10 which executes processing about display to a meter display 6; a video processing unit 11 which generates a video to be displayed; a video output unit 12 which outputs the generated video; a ROM 4 which stores a telltale image 31 being the source of the generated video and a CRC master 30 being an error detection code calculated in advance to the telltale image 31; a CRC calculation unit 13 which calculates the error detection code; and a video error detection unit 16 which detects an error in the video output to the meter display 6 by comparing HW-CRC being the error detection code calculated to the video output from the video output unit with the CRC master 30 stored in the ROM 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】自身が出力する映像の誤りを検出することができる車両用装置を提供する。【解決手段】実施形態の車両用装置１は、メータディスプレイ６への表示に関する処理を実行する制御部１０と、表示する映像を生成する映像処理部１１と、生成した映像を出力する映像出力部１２と、生成される映像の元になるテルテール画像３１およびテルテール画像３１に対して予め演算されている誤り検出符号であるＣＲＣマスタ３０を記憶しているＲＯＭ４と、誤り検出符号を演算するＣＲＣ演算部１３と、映像出力部から出力される映像に対して演算される誤り検出符号であるＨＷ－ＣＲＣとＲＯＭ４に記憶されているＣＲＣマスタ３０とを比較することにより、メータディスプレイ６に対して出力される映像の誤りを検出する映像誤り検出部１６と、を備える。【選択図】図１
