Zusammenfassung:To provide a frame member for a vehicle that can effectively absorb a collision load.SOLUTION: A frame member 1 comprises a cylindrical main body part 10 and a lid part 30 arranged at a tip portion of the main body part 10. A cross sectional shape of the main body part 10 is polygonal. The main body part 10 has a plurality of wall portions 20 arranged adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction. The lid part 30 has a polygonal-shaped lid surface 31 covering the tip portion of the main body part 10 and a plurality joint pieces 40 protruding from a peripheral edge 31r of the lid surface 31. At least one pair of adjacent joint pieces 40 of the plurality of joint pieces 40 include a first joint piece 41 and a second joint piece 42. The first joint piece 41 is jointed to the outside of one adjacent wall part 20 of the plurality of wall parts 20.
