UNDERDRAIN PIPE LAYING DEVICE AND METHOD OF USING UNDERDRAIN PIPE LAYING DEVICE

To provide a method of using an underdrain pipe laying device and an underdrain pipe laying device that can perform underdrain construction that requires a water gradient at low cost, accurately, and efficiently.SOLUTION: An underdrain pipe laying device 11 comprises a device main body 18 comprising an underdrain pipe guide portion 14 that guides an underdrain pipe 13 toward a bottom of a groove 12, a hydrophobic material filling portion 16 that fills the groove above the underdrain pipe with the hydrophobic material 15, and a hopper 17 for dropping a hydrophobic material. A propulsion force transmission unit 20 for transmitting the traveling propulsion force from a backhoe is provided between the device main body and the backhoe 19. The propulsive force transmission portion extends in the front-rear direction, a tip end side is fixed to the device main body, and a base end side is pivotally supported by a blade 24 of the backhoe so as to be vertically rotatable. The device main body is provided with a hanging rope 32 connected to a work arm 23 of the backhoe.
