Zusammenfassung:To suppress the deformation of a vehicle body upon a collision while preventing an increase in a rear overhang amount.SOLUTION: An impact absorbing structure of a vehicle 1 is equipped with a bumper beam 2 that extends in a vehicle width direction at a position separated to a vehicle rear side from a vehicle body 10, and a pair of supporting members 3 supporting the bumper beam 2 on both sides in the vehicle width direction. In the bumper beam 2, a cross-section orthogonal to the vehicle width direction is formed to be an opened cross-section equipped with an upper recessed portion 22 recessed from a rear surface 2rf facing the vehicle rear side toward a vehicle front side, a lower recessed portion 23 located below the upper side recessed portion 22 and recessed from the rear surface 2rf toward the vehicle front side, and an intermediate rear surface portion 25 located between the upper recessed portion 22 and the lower recessed portion 23 and having the rear surface 2rf.
