Zusammenfassung:To provide a tension adjustment device of a movable handrail capable of continuously keeping optimal pressing force for a long time.SOLUTION: A tension adjustment device is arranged on an endless movable handrail provided on a passenger conveyor for conveying passengers to adjust the tension of the movable handrail. The tension adjustment device includes a fixed frame fixed to a skeleton, a roller support frame supporting a roller abutting on the movable handrail, an intermediate support frame provided to be vertically movable between the fixed frame and the roller support frame, and an engagement mechanism detachably engaging the intermediate support frame to the fixed frame at a predetermined position in the vertical direction. The intermediate support frame is downwardly energized to the fixed frame by a first elastic body. The roller support frame is downwardly energized to the intermediate support frame by a second elastic body.
