Zusammenfassung:To provide an automatic transmission which is mounted with a start clutch arranged between an engine and a transmission mechanism and capable of obtaining input rotation of the transmission mechanism with a simple structure.SOLUTION: An automatic transmission comprises a start clutch 4 which connects and disconnects power between an engine and a transmission mechanism. The start clutch 4 has: a clutch hub 42 which has an inner cylinder section 42a connected to the engine; a clutch drum 41 which has an outer cylinder section 41a connected to the transmission mechanism; a friction plate 43 arranged between the clutch hub 42 and the clutch drum 41; and a piston 44 which presses the friction plates 43. A concave-convex section which is extended in an axial direction and has concave sections and convex sections alternately arranged in a circumferential direction is formed on a periphery of the clutch drum 41. A rotation speed sensor S which detects the concave-convex section is installed on an outer side of the clutch drum 41 in a radial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】エンジンと変速機構との間に発進クラッチを備えた自動変速機において、簡素な構造で変速機構の入力回転を得ることができる自動変速機を提供する。【解決手段】自動変速機は、エンジンと変速機構との動力を断接する発進クラッチ4を備え、発進クラッチ4は、エンジンに接続される内側円筒部42aを有するクラッチハブ42と、変速機構に接続された外側円筒部41aを有するクラッチドラム41と、クラッチハブ42とクラッチドラム41との間に設けられた摩擦板43と、摩擦板43を押圧するピストン44とを備え、クラッチドラム41の外周には軸方向に延びると共に周方向に交互に設けられた凹部と凸部とによって形成された凹凸部が設けられ、クラッチドラム41の径方向外側には、凹凸部を検出する回転数センサSが設けられている。【選択図】図2
