To solve the problem that there is a risk of deterioration if non-energization time of a printing unit does not satisfy a prescribed time.SOLUTION: A printer includes: a printing unit for printing on recording paper; a conveyance unit having a roller which rotates about a shaft and conveys the recording paper, and a motor for rotating the shaft; a detection unit for detecting rotation of the shaft; and a control unit for controlling the printing unit. The control unit calculates an energization time of energizing the printing unit, on the basis of a detection signal of the detection unit, and a non-energization time of not energizing the printing unit, following the energization time, and if the calculated non-energization time does not satisfy a predetermined time, the non-energization time is corrected so that the non-energization time attains the prescribed time or more, and then, the printing unit is caused to perform printing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】印刷部の非通電時間が所定時間に満たない場合、劣化するおそれがある。【解決手段】印刷装置は、記録紙に印刷する印刷部と、軸を中心に回転し、前記記録紙を搬送するローラーと、前記軸を回転させるモーターと、を有する搬送部と、前記軸の回転を検出する検出部と、前記印刷部を制御する制御部と、を備え、前記制御部は、前記検出部の検出信号に基づき、前記印刷部に通電する通電時間と、前記通電時間に続く前記印刷部に通電しない非通電時間とを算出し、算出した前記非通電時間が所定時間に満たない場合は、前記非通電時間が前記所定時間以上となるように前記非通電時間を補正し、前記印刷部により印刷を行わせる。【選択図】図１
