OPTICAL IMAGE CONVERSION UNIT

To provide an optical image conversion unit that forms part of a lens system as the optical image conversion unit, and is used as an adapter removably attached to an interchangeable lens mount and an intermediate part of an optical system to expand the utilization range of an imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: There is provided an optical image conversion unit comprising a relay lens system that forms a first formed image formed on a first image forming surface of an objective lens system on a second image forming surface. The relay lens system consists of a first relay lens group and a second relay lens group. The first relay lens group emits the first formed image on the first image forming surface as a parallel beam. The second relay lens group receives incidence of the parallel beam emitted from the first relay lens and forms the beam into an image on the second image forming surface.
