To provide a storage device that can determine whether an article housed in a display chamber has been removed or not.SOLUTION: A storage device 1 comprises: a display chamber 4 comprising an opening part 4A opened in a front surface, and inside which an article is housed; an article detection part capable of detecting a state inside the display chamber 4; a door for openably/closably closing the opening part 4A; an opening/closing detection part for detecting opening/closing of the door; a lock mechanism for locking/unlocking the door; and a control part for determining whether the article is housed inside the display chamber 4 or not on the basis of a detection result of the article detection part when having received a predetermined signal.
