Zusammenfassung:To express glossiness of a glossy region of read image data in conversion processing for converting pixel values of the glossy region of the read image data without using a plurality of read image data generated by reading processing in a plurality of reading environments and based on light reflected from a manuscript including normal reflected light having amounts different from one another.SOLUTION: A pixel value conversion learning device 46 learns a picture quality of image data having a picture quality in which glossiness of a glossy region GR cannot be suitably expressed so that the image data can be converted into image data having a picture quality in which glossiness of the glossy region GR can be suitably expressed. A pixel value conversion processing unit 54 inputs, to the pixel value conversion learning device 46, processing target image data and information indicating the glossy region GR of the processing target image data detected by a region identifying unit 52, thereby converting a pixel value of a pixel in the glossy region GR so that the glossiness of the glossy region GR of the processing target image data can be suitably expressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 【課題】読取画像データの光沢領域の画素値を変換する変換処理において、複数の読取環境における読取処理により生成された、互いに異なる量の正反射光を含む原稿からの反射光に基づく複数の読取画像データを用いることなく、読取画像データの光沢領域の光沢感を表現する。【解決手段】画素値変換学習器46は、光沢領域GRの光沢感が好適に表現されない画質の画像データの画質を、光沢領域GRの光沢感が好適に表現される画質の画像データに変換可能なように学習される。画素値変換処理部54は、画素値変換学習器46に対して、処理対象画像データ、及び、領域識別部52が検出した当該処理対象画像データの光沢領域GRを示す情報を入力することで、当該処理対象画像データの光沢領域GRの光沢感が好適に表現されるように、光沢領域GR内の画素の画素値を変換する。【選択図】図8
