REFLECTION TYPE ENCODER

To adjust the display between a head and a scale easily with good accuracy.SOLUTION: A reflection type encoder comprises: a base member; an adjustment member provided so as to be movable in a first direction and in the vertical direction; a holder support member provided so as to be movable in the vertical direction, with its position in the first direction fixed; a scale holder held by the holder support member so as to be movable in the first direction and having a scale; a heat substrate having a head, with its position in the vertical and the first direction fixed; and an operation member for moving the position in the first direction of the adjustment member.
