To provide an earth retaining structure that offers both strength and a reasonable cost.SOLUTION: An earth retaining structure 10 includes a steel sheet pile 1 driven in a row so as to demarcate an open-cut side and a natural ground side on a ground, and an H-section steel 2 driven into the ground so as to interpose among the row of the steel sheet piles 1. The H-section steel 2 has a joint 2j on both edges of a flange 2f1 on a side, the joint being connectable with a joint 1j on both edges of the steel sheet pile 1, and the flange 2f1 on the side is interposed among the row of the steel sheet piles 1, while the adjacent steel sheet piles 1, 1 and the respective joints 1j, 2j are connected with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】 土留め壁において、強度とコストの両立を図る。【解決手段】 土留め構造体１０は、地盤に開削側と地山側とを仕切るように１列に打ち込まれる鋼矢板１と、鋼矢板１の列中に介在するように地盤に打ち込まれるＨ形鋼２と、を含んで構成される。前記Ｈ形鋼２は、一方のフランジ２ｆ１の両端縁に、鋼矢板１の両端縁のジョイント１ｊと連結可能なジョイント２ｊを有し、前記一方のフランジ２ｆ１が、鋼矢板１の列中に介在して、両隣りの鋼矢板１、１と互いのジョイント１ｊ、２ｊどうしで連結される。【選択図】 図２
