To provide humidifier capable of preventing in advance a heating heater from being exposed to a water surface to prevent members surrounding the heating heater from being thermally damaged while securing a humidifying amount in operation of replacing water.SOLUTION: The humidifier in which when a water level of a water storage chamber is determined to stay in a middle water level or lower during execution of operation of replacing water, a heating heater 11 is switched to an OFF state to stop driving and in which in the operation, the presence of drive stopping of the heating heater 11 is determined in a water level position higher than a lower limit water level where driving of the heating heater 11 is stopped in mist operation to therefore make it possible to secure a humidifying amount in operation of replacing water and prevent the heating heater 11 from being exposed to a water surface to thermally damage members surrounding the heating heater 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】水入れ替え動作時における加湿量を確保しつつ、加熱ヒータが水面に露出し加熱ヒータ周囲の部材に熱損傷が加わるのを未然に阻止可能な加湿装置を提供する。【解決手段】水入れ替え動作の実施中、貯水室の水位が中段水位以下と判断したら、加熱ヒータ１１をＯＦＦ状態に切り替え、駆動を停止し、水入れ替え動作時は、ミスト運転時に加熱ヒータ１１を駆動停止する下限水位よりも高い水位位置で加熱ヒータ１１の駆動停止の有無を判断することから、水入れ替え動作時における加湿量を確保すると共に、加熱ヒータ１１が水面に露出し、加熱ヒータ１１の周囲にある部材に熱損傷を与えることを確実に阻止することができる。【選択図】図６
