To provide a system having a shared storage shared by a plurality of applications, configured to allow for efficient use of storage areas of the shared storage.SOLUTION: A shared storage management apparatus (2) which is equipped in a system (1) having a shared storage (11) to be used by a plurality of applications (7, 8, 9) for writing or reading data, includes a storage management section (10) configured to adjust securement of storage areas of the shared storage in response to requests from the applications.
