Zusammenfassung:To provide an antibacterial agent which exhibits excellent antibacterial property at a small amount even being blended in a resin or the like, and which is a light responsive type, and an antibacterial member acquired from the antibacterial agent, and a use method as an antibacterial agent.SOLUTION: There is provided an antibacterial agent including, as an active ingredient, a compound comprising in a molecule, peroxide bond and a thioxanthone skeleton, and being expressed by a general formula (1). There is also provided an antibacterial member obtained by applying on a substrate, the antibacterial agent, and drying and/or curing the substrate. There is also provided a use method of the compound comprising in a molecule, peroxide bond and a thioxanthone skeleton, as the antibacterial agent.
