To provide a metal top plate which can obtain a heating condition which is the same as those of the metal top plate and a glass top plate when the glass top plate is manufactured of the metal top plate.SOLUTION: A metal top plate 5 is a metal-made metal top plate 5 for use in a gas cooker 1 having a cooker burner. The metal top plate 5 comprises: a ceiling face part 51 at which an insertion hole 52 for allowing the insertion of the cooker burner is formed, and which has a placing face 55 on which a trivet 9 is placed around the insertion hole 52; a frame-shaped part 6 which surrounds the ceiling face part 51 in plan view, and is located above the ceiling face part 51 at its upper face; and a step part 7 which is arranged between the ceiling face part 51 and the frame-shaped part 6 so as to progress along an external periphery of the ceiling face part 51, and is located upward of the ceiling face part 51 and downward of an upper face of the frame-shaped part 6.
