To provide a lighting device which can inhibit occurrence of uncomfortable glare while maintaining a uniformity ratio.SOLUTION: A lighting device includes: a transparent cover having a light emitting surface; a light source having an optical axis in a direction intersecting with a normal line of the light emitting surface; and a housing which includes a diffusion surface formed on its inner surface and covers the light source. The transparent cover comprises: a bottom surface part formed with the light emitting surface; and an L shaped part extending upward from one end of the bottom surface part.
