Zusammenfassung:	To provide a method and a component mounting device capable of properly updating a piece of information regarding a component that has the polarity.SOLUTION: A method of updating a piece of information of a component that has the polarity, which is mounted onto a substrate by a component mounting device includes the steps of: acquiring a first measurement result by measuring the electrical characteristics of the component (ST2); determining whether the first measurement result is proper (ST3); and when the first measurement result is not proper (No at ST3), acquiring a second measurement result by measuring electrical characteristics with inverted polarity of the component (ST7).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 【課題】極性を有する部品に関する情報を適切に更新することができる方法および部品供給装置を提供する。【解決手段】部品装着装置によって基板に装着される、極性を有する部品に関する情報を更新する方法は、部品の電気的特性を測定して第１測定結果を取得し（ＳＴ２）、第１測定結果が適切かを判断し（ＳＴ３）、第１測定結果が適切でない場合（ＳＴ３においてＮｏ）、部品の極性が反転するようにして電気的特性を測定して第２測定結果を取得する（ＳＴ７）。【選択図】図７
