METHOD FOR USERS TO MANAGE SCOPE OF INFORMATION DISCLOSURE IN APPLICATIONS THAT ENABLE LOCATION-BASED COMMUNICATION

To solve the problem that, in a conventional social networking service that allows users to disclose their location information and communicate with each other, sufficient functions for the users to control the scope of their location information disclosure have not been provided; therefore, it has been difficult for the users to protect their privacy when using such services.SOLUTION: In order to solve the problem, the present invention has a method of providing a function that allows users to set the scope on a map where their own location information is invisible to other users, and a method of providing a function that allows the users to set a marker on the map that is visible only to certain users. This has made it possible for the users to use applications that enable location-based communication while managing their own privacy regarding the location information and the scope of outgoing information disclosure. 【課題】 従来の、ユーザーが位置情報を互いに公開し、コミュニケーションをとることを可能とするソーシャルネットワーキングサービスでは、ユーザーが自らの位置情報の公開範囲をコントロールするための機能が十分に提供されてこなかった。そのため、そうしたサービスを利用する場合、ユーザーが自らのプライバシーを保護することは困難であった。【解決手段】 上記課題を解決するため、本発明は、ユーザーが自らの位置情報が他のユーザーに見えなくなる範囲を地図上に設定できる機能を提供する方法、特定のユーザーだけに表示される目印を地図上に設定できる機能を提供する方法を有する。このことにより、位置情報を基にしたコミュニケーションを可能とするアプリケーションを、ユーザーが自らの位置情報に関するプライバシーや、発信情報の公開範囲を管理しながら利用することができるようにすることが可能となった。
