Zusammenfassung: | To provide an image forming apparatus that can prevent the occurrence of medaka, dirt on an electrification roller, and adhesion of toner to an image carrier.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus has: an electrostatic latent image carrier; electrification means that electrifies a surface of the electrostatic latent image carrier; exposure means that forms an electrostatic latent image on the electrified electrostatic latent image carrier; developing means that develops the electrostatic latent image by using toner to form a toner image; transfer means that transfers the toner image to a recording medium; and cleaning means that removes a toner remaining on the electrostatic latent image carrier after the toner image is transferred. The cleaning means and the electrification means are arranged side by side in this order along the direction of rotation of the electrostatic latent image carrier. The toner contains silica having an average primary particle diameter of 15 nm or more and 250 nm or less, and has zinc stearate that covers the surface of the silica. The abundance of zinc derived from the zinc stearate obtained by measuring 1 g of the toner by a fluorescent X-ray analyzer is 0.05 atom% or more and 3.0 atom% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
