Zusammenfassung:	To provide book paper having good touching feel in the front and rear surfaces, and having paper strength satisfying usability as book paper, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A book paper has an average surface roughness in the longitudinal and transverse directions (average SMD) measured in KES testing method of 0.800 μm or under, a difference of average SMD of the front and rear surfaces of 0.070 μm or under, a length weight average mean fiber length of constituting pulp components of 0.90 mm or under, and a basis weight of 50 g/m2 or over and 90 g/m2 or under.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】表裏のいずれにおいても手触り感に優れ、かつ、書籍用紙として使用性を満足する紙質強度を有する書籍用紙、およびその製造方法を提供すること。【解決手段】ＫＥＳ試験法により測定した縦横平均の表面粗さ（平均ＳＭＤ）が、０．８００μｍ以下であり、かつ、表裏面の平均ＳＭＤの差が０．０７０μｍ以下であり、構成するパルプ成分の長さ加重平均繊維長が０．９０ｍｍ以下であり、坪量が５０ｇ／ｍ２以上９０ｇ／ｍ２以下である、書籍用紙。【選択図】なし
