To provide an image reading device that can reduce the possibility of the occurrence of sheet jam, while allowing image reading means to move in a width direction to read image information on the sheet.SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: a guide plate 620 that is arranged between a conveying roller pair 406 and a conveying roller pair 407 and forms one side of an ejection path 432; an upstream guide shutter 601 and a downstream guide shutter 602 that are movable to an opposite position or a retracted position for forming the other side of the ejection path 432; and a color sensor 501 that is arranged movably in a width direction and reads image information on a sheet.
