To solve the problem in which: there is not presented a technique to, during processing to read an image on a display of a portable terminal, prevent a reduction in brightness in the display of the portable terminal and transition to a non-display state of the display of the portable terminal.SOLUTION: An embodiment of the present invention is a recording device having: a document platen; moving means that moves a reading unit in a first direction and a second direction being a direction opposite to the first direction; image reading means that performs image reading processing with the reading unit; and image recording means that performs image recording processing with a recording unit.
